same discussion part 2

Wolfie says:
They HAVE to treat you, but then they can bankrupt you if you have ANY money, property or savings. 3 out 5 bankruptcies in USA are due to health care costs. That wouldn't happen in Israel or Canada. The government would just pay the hospital bills. Do you want to go to the emergency room every time you need a follow up? Ridiculous.
The insurance companies will have to be reigned in. This is a step in that direction. They are not just difficult to deal with, they are criminal.
If there is a co-pay, it should be the same for everyone, like in Israel. In Israel, for another 50$ a month you can get better insurance. So, there are exceptions. But that makes them more like us. We're striving towards: Same insurance option for congressperson as a you or me or anyone.  A public option means you can pick any insurance company you want, but there is an OPTION to buy insurance from the government, . Right now the US government sells flood insurance for houses and I haven't heard any complaints about that. Why not health insurance? That will make the private insurance companies more competitive because they will have to compete with the public option. Instead of just paying their CEOs big bonuses because they hired enough insurance adjusters to deny enough claims to show profit for the stockholders. Your misery is their business bread and butter now, and any way they can screw you, they will. Sure why not, everyone is required to have heath insurance, just like a driver's licence or income tax or any other good rule. That way when someone DOES finally go to the emergency room for treatment, they don't have to lose money because the guy has no insurance. The money you pay in should go towards your health care, preventative, and otherwise, not to some asshole CEO's petting zoo and private plane. Most other civilized countries have already figured that out. Even the conservatives in Canada take it for granted that their tax money pays for health care for all across the board. Did you see these 2 movies: SICKO and JOHN Q  ?
